NEW TO FORUM...NEED SUGGESTIONS

Post by aznauticab0i »

Hey, i guess this is the first time i can call myself a noob. I got my 2000 itr with blox stage 1 cams, straight pipe no cat, intake, dc 4-1 headers. max hp is at 178, and i still feel thats a little low. someone told me that dc 4-1 headers are actually worse than the stock itr headers. im planning on hytech headers and new exhaust. any other suggestions?

there was a site that had all the top headers tested and the results were pretty cool.
Hopefully one of our great members will post the link. But if I remember correctly... the DC 4-1 did very well.

Don't forget that each dyno shows different numbers then the next.
Most stock ITRs have about 160-170whp.

Does your DC sports have a 2 1/4 inch collector or 2 1/2"?

If you are straight pipe with no cat and you have your oem exaust, the headers will be 2.25

The comparison test was from back in 03. I think there has been some newer designs or manufactures since then. T1R or TR1? Seemed like it was popular last year, and now it's Hytech? Toda always seemed to be nice 4-2-1. Produced good power with aftermarket cams. The reason why I asked about the collector Dia., was that the DC sports with the 2 1/2'" was considered to be a copy of the JDM ITR header (except with stainless or ceramic finish). I have a DC sports 4-1 with 2 1/4" Coll. I have a test pipe from omni, but can't find anyone around here to weld the damn thing. I bought mine back in early 2001 and there weren't a lot of options back then. Lot of the Japanese aftermarket parts were hard, and expensive to get.
