I am looking into designing a digital gauge kit for the 1994 - 2001 Integra to start with. The kit would be a drop in without cutting up the dash and no need to re-wire anything. It would replace the existing gauges with digital and you would have an optional extra gauge or 2 that could read about anything you would want (i.e. Boost, oil temp, fuel pressure, etc...) The price would be in the area of $600.00
The digital gauges would consist of the following features:
1. Tinted lexan cover over the digital display to provide High contrast viewing..
2. Available in red, green, maybe blue.
3. Light up gauge labels (i.e. Fuel, Temp, etc) flash as warning indicators when something isn't right.
4. Designed specifically for the acura (i.e. its not from some other car)
5. Available in english or metric readouts.
6. Factory warning indicators are retained (i.e ABS, check engine, etc...)
7. Complete installation instructions are included.
8. All gauges use factory sensors so there is no need to change the sensors.
9. All Microprocessor controlled.
10. Gauges dim at night when lights are turned on.
11. Digital odometer
12. setable shift light
13. 5 year warranty
I already have designed a digital gauge kit for the Fiero's and have been selling it for the past 9 years. The kit for the Integra would be similiar except redesigned to fit the Integra Dash.
You can see more details/specs about it at http://www.tomsdigitalelectronics.com
The one I designed for the Fiero is shown in the attached picture. Of course it would it would look a bit different for the Integra. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe that such a drop in kit exists.
I would like to see how much interest there would be in such kit as it would take a lot of work to design it. Please let me know your interest level on this new kit.
It would have the same look as the dash now has except digital gauges where the needle gauges are located. I can do this as it would be a dash designed specifically to fit in place of the stock gauges.
You have a very good idea, however the look is kinda old. Special the square type light. If you want to make some $$$, take a S2000 cluster and make something with similar design. There is alot of people who convert S2000 cluster to fit into EG/EK civic, and the idea to add custom gauge ex:boost, oil pressure, is very good.
If you could make a direct fit solution that would look like an S2000 cluster or with more newer light/icon/gauge, I'm sure your idea can work.

Thanks for your thoughts on my idea. Unfortunatly without a huge cash outlay (that the car manufacturers can afford) I am limited to the square type lights that are off the shelf. I am trying to come up with a totally new design that is drop in at a resonable cost so I wasn't looking at the S2000 dash. It is something I will look into though. Tom
