POLL!! Aem v2 cai VS Password jdm carbon intake
Ok i really want everyones opinions of the two intakes. Which one makes better power and other info such as quality? Anything would be greatly appreciated
Re: POLL!! Aem v2 cai VS Password jdm carbon intake
i had the aem v2..sounded nice prolly the hardest intake to install ever...they give u a new tranny mount..its not that tough just weird for an intake...if i had to do it again it would be the password..they look cooler and are cheaper i think

I don't see a POLL but I would choose the "niether" option if I did.
Of your 2 picks the V2 wins only because the password intake is strictly a show piece and makes 0 power. That's right, none.
A Mugen intake is hands down the best intake for an R. It's been proven.

at 800 bucks for an intake....i can think of alot better things to spend 800$$ on than to gain 2 hp ..lick ballsget RIGHT wrote:I don't see a POLL but I would choose the "niether" option if I did.

True, there are better ways to spend $800 but spending less would be a waste too. Multiple dyno test have shown that the Mugen piece gets the best power gains thru out the rev range. So, spending on anything but the m00gen is a waste I guess. I had the J's whale cack on my ITR I loved it, but I got a sick deal on it.ITRaddict wrote:at 800 bucks for an intake....i can think of alot better things to spend 800$$ on than to gain 2 hp

There is a cheaper option... AEM CAI, the first version. I have mine for 8 years with ZERO Problems!
Makes power in the upper RPM range, but some say that it lacks throttle response.

Please keep that BS and those kind of comments off of this forum... consider this your final warning.
<---- has Mugen intake as well and have had several others... Mugen has outperformed them all.

lol thanks for the answers guy (and sry bout not knowing how to do an actual poll). But i dont think im going with either of these. Im going itb's tuned with apexi power fc!! will post pics and dyno sheet when done.
Re: POLL!! Aem v2 cai VS Password jdm carbon intake
What do you guys think of the comptech intake? I've got one, and it seems to perform pretty well. Then again, its the only intake I've had on my R so I can't really compare it to anything.

What are you goals? Why ITB's? Why PowerFC?itrekcivic wrote:lol thanks for the answers guy (and sry bout not knowing how to do an actual poll). But i dont think im going with either of these. Im going itb's tuned with apexi power fc!! will post pics and dyno sheet when done.
I think you need to talk to Craig... His R has been sitting for about 2 or so years now... I would offer you this... please find and speak to a local PowerFC tuner first. It's hard to come by someone who tunes with PowerFC these days. That and the ITB's make it that much more complicated... so before jumping in and buying a bunch of parts... check with a tuner first. I only know of 1 singe person in the USofA who could/would/will do it.

Lets keep in mind that only a brand new Mugen airbox is going to run you $750 or $800...whatever it is new these days.
More often than not, you'll find a used airbox for much less. I paid $500 for mine used less than a year ago.
