FS: 2000 ITR #0052, FBP with 93k (Columbus, OH) - SOLD!!!

Post by dpaul »

Location: Columbus, OH
Price: $12,500 OBO

2000 Acura Integra Type-R #0052
Just under 93k miles
Flamenco Black Pearl
Clean title

I am the 2nd owner of this incredible car. I picked it up with ~54k miles on it in 2005 from the original owner, who took great car of the car (garage kept, never raced/tracked it, and had all records).

I have kept all of the service records and receipts, and I still have original sales invoice and window sticker.
I recently had the 90K mile service done and the car has also been freshly detailed.

Condition:
This car has always been sort of a dream car for me... and after many years of wishing and looking for one, I finally found this one. When I got it home, it quickly became my baby, and I've always taken great care of this car. All services have been performed on time and the oil was changed regularly. The car drives as great as it did the day I picked it up. I've never had any mechanical issues with the car. However, I want to be honest and mention that the car does burn oil between changes; about 1qt every 750 miles (+/-100 miles, depending on driving style). I've read through many, many, many online forums regarding this issue (including this forum) and found that it is quite typical for this motor to consume this amount of oil. After some investigation, I decided to try a few things. As a first step, I replaced the PCV valve (which was stuck open), but there really wasn't a major improvement in oil consumption. After that I had a leak-down and compression test done. The leak-down came back with good numbers, and the compression test showed 235, 230, 230, 210 psi (for cylinders 1, 2, 3, 4). My understanding is that +/- 28psi is within spec. So, ultimately, I'm really not sure if it's a major issue. I want to be as upfront and honest as possible and say that the car does burn oil... but also that the car still runs really strong.

Aside from that, the car has never been in any accidents (clear title). There are a couple of very small door dings on the passenger side (no paint damage - can't even tell in the pics). The paint looks really good, but does have some small stone chips in the front and small nicks and scratches here and there. No rust. For a car with almost 93k miles, it looks great!

The interior is also in great shape. The car has never been smoked in, and almost never been eaten in (I'm a little particular about people eating in my cars). No stains, aside from the driver's side floor mat, which shows normal wear and tear.

Modifications:
I purchased the car with the following parts already installed.

- Comptech Cold Air Intake
- Comptech SS 4-2-1 Header
- Comptech SS Cat-back Exhaust
- Rota Slipstream 16x7” wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3, 205/45WR16 tires (still have lots of tread left). OEM wheels included (need new tires)
- Mugen pedals (OEM pedals included)
- Clear front turn signal lenses (OEM amber lenses also included)

I will also include the following parts, which are not installed.
- Comptech Catalytic Converter/Test Pipe (this was installed when I purchased the car, but I decided to put the OEM one back on)
- Euro taillight lenses (faux carbon fiber housing) (these were also installed when I bought the car... but I preferred the stock ones over these)

As a final note, I am open to reasonable negotiations on price (but please, no trades). I have tried to price it relative to the other ITRs I've seen available. If the car didn't eat oil, I would expect to get somewhere around $15k-$16k. However, due to the oil consumption, I'm willing to drop my expectations a little bit. The question is how much? If you're seriously interested, let me know what it's worth to you. I truly believe that it could continue to run as-is without problems for quite some time. For those of you who aren't so comfortable with the oil consumption, I would happy to negotiate some other options with you. I do work for Honda and there is a possibility of including a brand new OEM ITR short block in the sale.

Please feel free to ask any questions. And thanks for looking!

I was just looking at this for sale thread the other day wishing I had the extra cash to jump on this, and then I passed you pulling out of your apt complex today. Have to say I had to stop and stare since I don't many R's at all when I drive around Cbus...looks hot. Goodluck with the sale. :D

Hey dsisive,
Yes, the car is still for sale... however, I'm in process of trying to work out a deal with somebody. The car is going to a mechanic to get checked out on Wednesday this week... I will post an update as soon as I get info back from the shop (should be Thursday or Friday).

Just an update, I had an interested buyer who wanted the car taken to a shop to get looked over, but his shop couldn't work us in last week. And, I haven't heard from the guy since...
So, like I said, car is still for sale. For those of you who are interested, if you've got questions please let me know. Let's make a deal!!!

I can vouch for this car being pretty damn nice. I've seen it in person multiple times now and its quite clean for the mileage and being black. It looks alot better in person, rather than the pictures, they really don't do it justice (I can take new ones for you Derek :) ). If I could convince myself to have an ITR as my only car, i would've already bought it. Very good seller as well!
