basically (And I dont know much about computers and shit anyway) is a link or a site that u can use to view sites that are blocked from work or whatever. It back doors any filters that might be set and are being used to block sites so you can view anything.

I used google on my PDA to veiw sites when they were not setup for phones/pdas. maybe you could try that?

LOL... Rob not knowing a proxy and thinking google works...

Proxy is basically a way to "spoof" your firewall/other security measures localling into thinking your not going to sites that are truely blocked. Think of it kinda like an RDP setup... you remote (or in this case surf) to another server(site here) and via that server(site) that is allowed from your local firewall/security measures, you surf to the sites that are not allowed locally.

It's basically a work around to blocked sites, or hiding where your really coming from.

And Erik, I haven't used one in years so I'm not sure which ones are still up that I used to use.

I tried so many...I had one many years ago at my old base in Louisiana. It kills me when I go out to the field and cant get on a few of the sites I visit. Really just my site and yahoo sports (for fantasy reasons)

Thats all I need. Now they are not letting us take our cell phones to the field so I REALLY dont have nothing to do out there
