Re: New to TypeR's
Before you start thinking what you want to do to your car, I suggest reading the rule book for HC. you will be shocked on what you can and can't do.

I already skimmed it today. Almost the same as SCCA but you can do more like intake manifolds and flywheels. I havent seen any huge modification that you can do......unless you know something/advice

Not to come across as a wise-ass, but it seems that you have most of the basics covered. Just need to follow the rules for the class you want to compete in and go from there. In other words, get a shell- build and race!

Re: New to TypeR's
Will get your cage pics soon. Been busy swapping motors in the car.
Edit... found some older ones. Not the whole thing in one pic, but both sides and you can see the horizontal bar in question.

Just forgive Dave's painting skills, he was never good at coloring within the lines.

Re: New to TypeR's
its ok. looks like Dave's concern was more to prevent rust on his welds and not make the box plate cage look nice. race cars will be race cars.....they get fucked up one way or another

This I know, I were merely poking fun at Dave. Sorry to be off-topic.

Re: New to TypeR's
15X6 +50 offset 5X114.3 for USDM
16X7 +50 offset 5X114.3 for just about everywhere else
As for buying Kosei wheels... Tirerack is the only place I know of.
But try the past sponsers for the ITR Expos, maybe they can help you.
15X7 Kosei with 205/50-15 RA1s are what I use for track.

In competition, it's all about rules... they will dictate what you can use or not.

Re: New to TypeR's
Kosei wheels like I use http://memimage.cardomain.com/member_im ... 8_full.jpg (many others too) were discontinued a while back (in 5X114.3).
For racing, I'd use cheapish wheels, they're gonna get messed up.
So find some used ones that fit right and fit your budget.

If you like that style... http://memimage.cardomain.com/member_im ... 220821-280
Check out the rest of the photos, http://www.cardomain.com/ride/503605
The size of those, mine are 16X7 +43 offset. But they are my street wheels with A/S tires.
