It is a 2000 with a 2001 armrest/badge. Of course being a used car dealer, he didn't know the history. Just interesting.

It is an auction with a reserve and this one says reserve NOT met! so 10000 is a starting bid but not the asking price! lol he might have the reserve set at 15k, only the seller knows

yeah, his reserved is set at 14k, but he has it listed locally for 15k, yesterday the auction went up to 15,100 but then today it's back down to 14k. sounds like a real good deal.

Note: This is not my car, I'm posting this as an incredible find on a local forum that I don't think anybody on there would even appreciate... I'd like to see this R find a nice home Sorry if this is against the rules, but I care about the future of this.

All the info that I gathered it had over 100k miles, clean title, located in Wilmington, North Carolina.

That's a scam, I've reported it to ebay. I emailed the seller asking general and specific questions, then I emailed saying I'd like to see the car before bidding. Here are the replies:
"Hi,
First of all, I must apologize for my reticence with selling my car. I love this car and it means a lot to me. I am forced by a bank loan to sell it. The loan does not involved him, but i need the money and i must do that. The car is like new, in perfect condition, no marks or need for additional repairs what so ever. The real miles on board, a great car ready to be yours. It has no accident or any engine problem. The car is located in North Bellmore NY.
The final price is $5,200 with shipping for free(if necessary in the continental US),since my brother in law works at DAS,and he promised me that it Will cost me nothing to ship it to you. I don't want to offend you by anything but if we are going to complete the sale we are going to use Ebay Purchase Program which will cover the purchases up to 20,000 USD.
If you agree with my terms, i will need your name, ebay ID and address for shipping and i will contact ebay to inform them about our agreement and to start the program to protect us.If this is ok with you and you want me to explain how the process works, please email me and i will do that.
Thank you and i will wait for your email.
Christine Biesecker"

The reply to asking to see heR.
"Hi again,
I said the car is in North Bellmore but did not say I'm also there. Sorry for that.but I'm now in Chicago IL working and will not be there to hand it over or something like that. You send the amount to eBay Motors, eBay will confirm me that you have made the payment. I will ship you the car so you can test drive the car. If you will not get exactly the same car that you have viewed in the ad, and also a clean title you will receive all your money back from eBay motors. This is why we'll work through eBay Motors and they will keep the money until the purchase is final and you test it and accept it.
This is why I need your full name, ebay ID and full address for shipping.
Once again, shipping is free.
Thanks
Christine"

2000 PY #0001 on ebay?

Link here.
I was skeptical at first, but the serial number of the VIN does match the first serial number found in andyt's research as found in the "How many ITRs were sold in USA" sticky on that other site :P . I've emailed the seller for a pic of the badge. That'd be a neat R for someone to pick up :P
