First, as already pointed out, that ad is a scam. Once you agree to buy the car it will involve eBay vehicle purchase protection and a western union (or similar) money order. You'll never see the car or the money (especially since that car is selling for $15,500 in Chicago).

As for GS-R and ITR, I have both. Currently, my GS-R is faster. The ITR is the better driver hands down, and the better handling car, etc (both have about the same suspension setup).

For your needs, I'd go with a GS-R for now.

Either car is going to kill your parents on Insurance, and once it's in your own insurance, it'll kill you financially..

The whole confusion with JDM or type R or whatever. My whole point is, I wanted a Type R with the factory JDM front, but I didn't want to have to do it myself. Thanks everyone for your input and for clearing everything up. I didn't mean anything in a bad way, or to be rude. Just tired from a long night and was trying to get my thoughts straight.

No worries. You can find several in the states that are USDM cars with the JDM OEM front ends on them

Getting and registering a true JDM RHD car is a whole different story.

Agreed! Unless you are lucky enough to find one in the states that is registered the right way.

Is there a right way or is there just slipping through the registration cracks?

I know there used to be a right way, but I know a lot has changed since motorex shut down. Now as far as I know a lot of the registered rhd cars have gsr or ls vin numbers. Rather than the 10 digit (I believe that's right) Japanese vin number.

This thread is worth checking out for registering a rhd.

Yeah but even for registering an overseas car, wouldn't you end up spending an unnecessary amount of money? I mean including importing and stuff. I read a little about importing R34's and they said Japan is less strict on safety or something so when it gets here, there has to be a lot of work done to the car as far as safety and emissions to even register it in the US. Florida's great because there are no emissions but I think it has to still pass a US emissions thing. Would you have to deal with that for an ITR?

Hmmm.. Cool, thanks. Answered all of my questions. Now I'm waiting to see all of the Supra's and RX7's driving around in 2020 LOL If I read it clearly, then everyone is going to be importing so much more since it'll be easier on them as far as a street legal car...

I don't think motorex's way of importing was even correct, which is why many of those cars have been taken back and crushed.

I think they originally were following some sort of legal (semi-legal?) procedures in the beginning. Once they company got shady they were definitely not following any sort of protocols even through the clients were paying for said work. That is a large reason why many of those cars were taken back and crushed.

Okay, so back to the GSR and Type R thing... If I bought a GSR, would this go on without any problems?
