dyno video 2000 turbo ITR

Post by Jan Niemi »

http://home.comcast.net/~jniemi1970/senseidyno1.mpg

right click save as...11meg

this is one of my 295whp pulls, listen for the VTEC changeover, pretty dramatic sounding...

here's one little clip, I have a vid that's 57meg, too big for me to host,
so I will post little clips here and there..

here's another, that's Dropspeed standing by the monitor with the earmuffs on....cough...pussy....cough...(from the board, and HT), he has the fastest na ITR in Michigan, I have the fastest turbo ITR in Michigan (that we know of) anyways he had to stop by and witness the smackdown..here's Matt's face when he saw the numbers...

Nice Video. Got to have more. but 2 questions. When do you have your vtec kick in? and why can i see so much of your exhaust fumes? Is that because you only use a striaight pipe (no catylac converter)?? or is it because you dump your wastegate in to the exhaust?

exhaust

Post by Jan Niemi »

With turbo and high compression, you have to run somewhat of a rich tune to keep things cool and to prevent detonation, the car is tuned at 11.5 air fuel ratio pretty much across the band... at the end of the pull, that's just oil getting sucked into the intake and then burned (I still need to hook up my catch can properly to prevent that....)

boost

Post by Jan Niemi »

according to the pressure sensor that my tuner used for datalogging, boost crept up to 11-11.5.....not what I expected, my boost gauge has never shown anything above 9Psig

Not bad Jan...I can't see the video (56k ownage) I'll check it out at work. Do you have the dyno plot you can post? I'm interested in comparing it to mine.

dirty

I was waiting for that..I've had the car for over 4 years, and this is the first time it's seen salt. Friday was warm about 40 degrees a little rain, by Saturday morning it was about 20 degrees, all the rain froze and it snowed about 3 inches overnight, I waited a month for my dyno appointment, so I wasn't about to cancel, oh well, it will wash off...I was hoping for better weather, but it's Michigan....

don't worry jan I have more dents than a smashed pop can in my car. I wish I didn't have crap internet that way I could watch that vid. but again congrats on the #'s and for those who don't know the mustang dyno is more accuate than a dyno jet for real world numbers but always reads a bit lower...top end blitz made 317whp on a mustang dyno and 367whp on a dyno jet with only 2 psi difference in boost settings

numbers

Post by Jan Niemi »

thanks, I'm very happy with the numbers, the powerband is so linear, and the torque curve flat - I know the MD shows lower numbers, but that's ok, that's what the dragstrip is for, I'm looking forward to April when the local strip opens over here so that I can go out and play a little..

Love the car, but aren't you scared someone would steal it. I hope you have a good alarm system for it. My friend and I are going to design some kind of alarm setup for the car if it works out I would keep it, but if it don't bye typeR . Love my typeR more than anything in the world but I just can't take the head-ache anymore. If the setup works I would only email typeR owners sorry other honda oweners, but to me If you don't own one your the enemy. I'm sorry I'm talking like this but I hate to hear ITR's getting stolen every minute.

It's not my daily driver, so it stays locked up in an undisclosed location that is very secure...not worried about it. Besides, I have insurance. I never go anywhere with the car if I know it will be parked from my field of vision.
